There are new rules that determine your ability to play in this tournament. While they may seem somewhat snobby, it appears that this is the only way 1) People will make sure they get thier deposits on time and 2) the only fair way I know to value the deposits of the players that exist in the tournament. I have paid money out of my own pocket to pay people back, so I am trying to be fair about it.

Last year, I had to play the bad guy and actually turn people away. Even those who paid their deposit. Why? Well, because there were a few people that did pay their deposit that were not wanted by any teams. For the good of the tournament, if I force 1 or 2 players on teams the do not want them, then it really is not a good "$200+ fun/competition investment" is it for the other players on their team.

So, I am giving preference in the following order:

1. People who have paid full amount that are on teams
2. People who have paid a deposit that are on teams
3. People who have paid a full amount that are not on teams
4. People who have paid a deposit that are not on teams

If you want to guarantee that you are on a team, find (or fund) 8 deposits and form your own team. Full teams will have preference. Preference will be given to teams that have previous armageddon experience (with weight towards years participated).

Are there a maximum number of teams that can attend this year?

Currently, this maximum is 6. If there is a solid 7 (meaning deposits are paid), then we will consider 7. If there is 8, then we can have a discussion that team will be not allowed to play following the rules. If there is a unanimously agreed on format to handle 8 teams, then we can accept the 8th.
