So what's this like? Looks like Force or the new Zone equipment... How does it play? BTW, this game was awesome!

Clear Plastics ala Force, very narrow IR beam and precise senors (ala Darklight V5/Tron). Vest system with standard layout (front, back, shoulders, two handed phasor (with the heat sensor). Plays similar to a shorter ranged, faster firing version of System Z V4 zone. Has bright colors and kiddy sound effects like the newer Zone System T or Nexus. When I get a chance I will post a video or two I found of it.

It actually sounded really cool until you got to that part. ;-P Hopefully these heat sensors actually work well.

truth be told, I think blast plays very differently than any iteration of zone equipment honestly. No need to worry about the equipment here jabber, the packs are like new, and I've never had a hand sensor issue.

The Zone packs with those types of sensors were always basically unplayable for me. They'd just power up and power down repeatedly no matter what I did. I don't know if it is my body chemistry or my clammy hands or what. This game does sound pretty cool except for the heat sensors and the 2-hands on the laser thing (which diminishes a lot of systems IMO). --Tav

The ones I've struggled with are the touch sensors on AR, the moment I got sweaty they started flaking out.... although didn't really notice a problem in Sweden when I played there. Zone sensors don't appear to be heat as I think just putting a bit of tape over the sensor makes the gun work permanently. They are very fussy though if your hand isn't flat against it, then it doesn't fire.
The latest LaserForce sensors seem good, but they do occasionally uncalibrate during play... but thats fixed simply by removing your hand from the sensor area for a second.

We played this on Saturday for about 3-4 hours and throughout the entire time I never once had a problem with the heat sensor. This includes both movement and sweat considerations, although my palms don't sweat very much.

For the sake of accuracy/reference in the future - the sensor was a light sensor, meaning you had to have3 it covered completely in order for the phaser to be fired. The packs on this system were fine, but I did not care for the phaser.

Not sure if you guys figured out the Blast packs, as I havent been on this site in forever, but I work at a center that uses Blast and has been using them for 3 years now. If you have any questions on the system let me know.
